One of the main objectives at inch by INCH preschool is to have a learning environment in which the children will want to explore, learn new concepts and to engage in practicing new skills. With each new learning experience, the children will develop listening skills, learn to stay on task and make new and fun observations.

Inch by INCH preschool is Proud to have been open since 2005!  Thanks to Awesome families like you!  We have loved teaching your littles and being one of their first experiences of school and learning!  We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from all of the sweet preschoolers that come here and are also grateful for the  personal relationships we gain with each family!  We Love watching your little ones grow inch by inch! :)

FRIDAY CLASS


Friday Class 

The Friday Class is an optional third day class for those four year olds who will be attending Kindergarten the following fall.  This course offers a different dynamic to what has been taught in the Mon/Wed class or Tues/Thurs class. 

This class will follow the same schedule as the other days of the week except for a few differences. First we will focus on four main concepts.  They are..

Music:  The first Friday of the month the kids will be exploring new concepts with Music.  They will use instruments, make instruments, sing songs, and learn different beats, ect.
Art:  The second Friday of the month will be focused on doing an art project using different methods of painting or constructing.
Science:  The third Friday of the month will be geared around Science and experiments.  The kids will be apart of a hands on learning experiment.  They will learn how to predict and explore their findings.
Math:  The fourth Friday of the month will be focused around different math concepts such as graphing, sequencing, adding and so on.  We will always work on numbers and counting.

Each one of these concepts will be engaging, fun and different from what they will be doing at the first of the week.  These concepts will take the place of the Thematic Unit.


Learning to Read
During the Friday class, Reading Skills will be introduced to the class.  They will work on simple sight words and word families that teach with phonics.  They will take home a book to read every Friday to work on and then to bring back to read to their teacher!  This class is both engaging, challenging and fun!!

CURRICULM

3 year old Class
  • Colors and Shapes
  • introduction to lower case letters and sounds
  • Count to 25
  • Group items 1-10
  • Write Name


4 year old Class
  • Upper and Lowercase letters and sounds
  • Write and Recognize All letters
  • Count to 100
  • Group items 1-20
  • Write Name using correct spacing
  • Be introduced to simple sight words
* All Classes will be taught the Pledge of Allegiance, will work on matching, tracing, visual perception, cutting and rhyming concepts. They will learn many fun and silly songs as well as educational songs that teach concepts such as the days of the week.  The students will be read to everyday along with being  taught about our Thematic Units.  Some of those units include, Farm Animals, Dentists, Living Things and Spring Weather.*
